All New For 2017, and Dressed to Impress
The Subaru Impreza has been totally redesigned for 2017 with new styling, a more upscale, comfortable and quiet interior, and improved steering and suspension. Offered as a sedan or a hatchback, Subaru’s compact car stays true to the brand’s trademark values of safety, sporty dynamics and standard all-wheel drive, all at a starting price that’s just a hair above $19,000.
Driving the Impreza
“Compared to its predecessor, the first thing you’ll notice about the 2017 Subaru Impreza is the quiet, a credit to the new architecture’s refinement. Beyond that, there’s the quicker and more responsive steering, which gives the new Impreza a livelier feel from behind the wheel.” Find out more in our 2017 Subaru Impreza full review.
The Impreza is all-new for 2017 but its evil and eviler twins, the WRX and WRX STI, will remain on their existing platforms for the time being. The 268-horsepower WRX and 305-horsepower WRX STI will receive a variety of enhancements for 2018, however, including steering and suspension changes that promise even more engaging driving dynamics. They go on sale this summer.
